What Would You Do with a Small Windfall?

We often dream about what we’d do if we won the lottery - but let’s be real, that kind of money is hard to even imagine. And since many of us don’t actually play, the odds of that fantasy coming true are basically zero.

But here’s a more grounded (and fun!) question: What would you do if you came into a modest windfall? (nothing life-changing - just enough to treat yourself or do something meaningful.)

Here’s what I’d do:  I’d…

1. Go to my favorite grocery store - Trader Joe’s or Newport Market - and go on a total shopping spree. I’d buy Cocoyo yogurt, Vicolo Pizza, and TJ’s Olive Oil & Salt Potato Chips.  I’d buy some of their reusable logo shopping bags.  I’d fill my cart with the freshest, most gorgeous produce.

2. Upgrade my car insurance. Specifically, I’d lower my collision deductible - just for some peace of mind.

3. Surprise someone with tickets to a play, concert, or Broadway show - something they’d never expect but would totally love.

4. Book a foot massage.

5. Make a donation to my favorite nonprofit: Guide Dogs for the Blind.

6. Buy myself a really beautiful wood cutting board - something sturdy, useful, and just plain satisfying to own.

7. Pick up two new pairs of swim goggles - one for indoor swims, one for outdoor.
