Dec. 11 – Donate in honor of someone!

I don’t know why I didn’t think of this earlier.  It’s the PERFECT gift!  Donate to an organization or charity in somebody’s name.  For a few years I donated to Guide Dogs for the Blind in my mother-in-law’s name.  I would draft a donation certificate and put it in a beautiful Christmas card.  She loved it!  In addition, I worked for a company, that instead of throwing an annual Christmas party, they would tell every employee to pick their favorite charity, then the business would donate to that charity in the employee’s name.  I LOVED this for a couple reasons.  First and foremost, it speaks to the values of a company.  Secondly, because let’s face it…no good can come out of those parties…gossip, alcohol, office crushes.  So, the point is – donate to a charity that the gift recipient is passionate about.  BTW…now I volunteer at Guide Dogs for the Blind.  Hint. Hint.
