Dec. 16 – NO GIFTS please!

Free yourself of giving gifts!  I had a colleague that NEVER gave me a Christmas gift.  I didn’t understand that.  I thought maybe she didn’t like me.  Looking back, I don’t think she did, but that’s not why she didn’t get me a gift.  She didn’t get anybody a gift.  I thought that was weird.  Gift Giving has always been my love language.  It’s important to me to give and, I admit it, to receive.  I have to say though, that relieving yourself of this pressure, allows you to focus on alternative ways of showing appreciation – like spending quality time and listening.  Give a gift because you want to, not because you feel pressured by societal expectations.  Christmas is supposed to be a time we enjoy, not just something we have to get through!
