Dec. 23 – Homemade Coupon Book!

I used to do this when I was a kid. I would give my parents coupon books that said, I’ll make my bed or I’ll pick up my room. I’ll do the dishes. Walk the dog. Fold the laundry. Be quiet. I’d also write funny little things on the coupons…like, NOBODY BUT YOU CAN USE THIS COUPON! YOU CAN’T GIVE ME TWO COUPONS AT ONCE! I’M NOT ALLOWED TO WHINE WHEN YOU GIVE ME A COUPON! My mom or dad would then lovingly dole out the coupons with plenty of notice (I’ve always been a planner.), wink and say, “You don’t really have to do what’s on this coupon. It’s the thought that counts.” Then, they’d give me a hug and tell me how wonderful/special/beautiful I was. Just kidding – my childhood wasn’t quite that Norman Rockwell. I don’t want to give you the wrong impression though! There was love. There were traditions. There were presents and parties. And, today my mom is my best friend. That’s why I can write like this. She’ll laugh! I’m getting off topic though. Adults can give coupon books too. Foot Massage / Garage Organization / Dog Grooming / Car Wash / Movie of your choice / Uninterrupted Nap / Day without Technology / Home Cooked Meal / Wild Card!
