My mother-in-law asked for our Christmas lists by Thanksgiving. Others in the family would loathe this. I’m guessing they thought, "UGH - just one more chore I have to complete in an already busy holiday season!"  However, I secretly LOVED it!  I believed the lists were her way of getting to know us better.  We didn’t live close, and she wanted to know things about us – What kind of music did we like?  What did we eat?  What were our favorite stores?  Places to visit? Hobbies? Routines? I really liked perusing every family member’s list.  It made me realize that it’s not the gift that counts...IT'S THE THOUGHT!  Those lists helped me get to know the person and made my gift shopping much easier!  So, those lists are why I’m starting my blog Dec. 1.  I thought a gift-giving advent calendar could be fun  (well for me anyway!).  So, for 24 Days (hopefully I have that many ideas), I’ll tell you how I’ve given (and been the recipient of) GREAT gifts!  A teaser…consider a hobby / buy local / what do they need in their home or yard / SURPRISE! / what not to give / themes / regifts / your time or service.

Agree wholeheartedly 🤗 Kathleen, if the thoughtfulness is present 💝 it does not matter what the gift may be!
